1 Bandit Killed, 3 Arrested As Police Rescue Abducted Victims In Kebbi

A suspected bandit has been killed by the police while three others were arrested in Maiyama and Shanga Local Governments, Kebbi State.

Team@orientactualmags.com learned that spokesman for the state police command, CSP Nafiu Abubakar, who disclosed this in a statement he issued in Birnin Kebbi on Wednesday, noted that the operations followed two separate attacks launched on residents of Botoro Gadi and Kwari communities by bandits.

He added that eight armed men had invaded the residence of one Alhaji Sani in Botoro Gadi, Mungadi area of Maiyama LGA, abducting two residents identified as Muhafi Sani and Shamsiya Aliyu.

Upon receiving a distress call, the Divisional Police Officer in Maiyama led a team comprising cops and local vigilantes who pursued the attackers and engaged them in a gun battle.

‘As a result, one of the suspected kidnappers was killed, while his dane gun and one empty cartridge shell were recovered’ the statement said.

He added that another gang of bandits attacked Kwari village in the Giron Masa area of Shanga LGA, where two residents, identified as Suleiman and Yunwa Suleiman, were abducted.

The Divisional Police Officer in Shanga, working with army personnel and vigilantes, he noted, quickly mobilized and confronted the attackers.
