10th National Assembly: North Central Govs Not Expressly Opposed To ‘Zoning Arrangements’-Gov Abdulrazaq

Ahead of the leadership elections in the tenth National Assembly, Governor AbdulRahman Abdul Razaq of Kwara state has denied media reports claiming that governors from the North Central geo-political zone had expressly voiced an objection to the ‘zoning arrangements’ proposed by the ruling APC.
The North Central geo-political zone comprises Kwara, Niger, Kogi, Benue, Plateau and Nasarawa states.
AbdulRazaq in a statement made available to Team@orientactualmags.com by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Rafiu Ajakaye noted that the governors, being party leaders from the region, ‘cannot adopt confrontational posture against the party’s position’ but are instead holding strategic meetings with different stakeholders to secure a better deal for the North Central.
‘Media reports claiming that we rejected the party’s position are therefore a stretch of our approach. They are not factual. We have our channels of communication, and that is what we are exploring.
We are party people, and we will not make any public statement or do anything that will rubbish its leadership or cause avoidable tension in the polity. That is not our way’ he said-Team@orientactualmags.com
