10th Senate: Opeyemi Bamidele Appointed As Majority Leader, Lere Oyewunmi  Named As Deputy Minority Leader …Lola Ashiru Is Deputy Chief Whip

Senator Opeyemi Bamidele of Ekiti Central has been named as Majority Leader of the 10th Senate.

Team@orientactualmags.com learned the Senate President, Godswill Akpabio announced this during a plenary session on Tuesday.

Senator Ali Ndume, who served as Majority Leader in the 8th Senate, has been appointed as Chief Whip while Senator Lola Ashiru of Kwara South has been named as his Deputy.

Former governor of Ebonyi state, Senator Dave Umahi , Ebonyi South, is the Deputy Majority Leader.

Senator Simon Mwadkwon from Plateau state has been chosen as Minority Leader while  Senator Lere Oyewumi of Osun West will serve as his deputy.

Oyewunmi, a  former member of the House of Representatives,  who  was also a three-term Chairman of Irewole Local Government, and the Chairman of Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON), Osun state,   later served as Federal Commissioner, National Population Commission (NPC).

Senator Darlington Nwokocha  a member of the Labour Party has been appointed as  Minority Whip while a member of the NNPP , Senator Rufai Hanga will serve as his deputy–Team@orientactualmags.com
