13th Convocation Ceremony: Be Good Ambassadors, Oro College Of Education Provost Tells Graduands

Provost of the Kwara State College of Education, Oro, Professor` Aremu Mukaila Ayanda, has urged students who had just left the institution to become members of the Alumni Association to make use of the knowledge they have acquired at the College of Education to impact society.

Team@orientactualmags.com learned that Professor` Aremu Mukaila Ayanda said this in Oro, Irepodun local government, Kwara State, last week Thursday while giving his speech during the 13th Convocation Ceremony of the institution .

A total of 1,809 students who belong to the 2018/2019, 2019/2020, 2020/2021, 2021/2022, 2022/2023, and 2023/2024 academic sessions, graduated from the College of Education, 1,792 among them were awarded National Certificate of Education (NCE) while 17 earned Professional Diploma of Education (PDE).

While asking the graduands to be good ambassadors of the College of Education, the Provost also urged them to note that ‘education journey’ has not ended but rather just began.

‘I congratulate all of you, our young graduands of today, on having successfully completed your programmes of studies and on having been adjudged worthy in both character and learning and thus received the NCE and Professional Diploma in Education certificates. I want you to bear it in mind that your parents and the College have jointly invested a lot in you.

I expect you to be good ambassadors of the College, your parents, and the nation. The attainment of a NCE and PDE is not the end of life, but the beginning of a new life of service to your country and to humanity. Those ideas and standards which have been brought to your attention during your period of studentship at the College must now be put into practice’ he said.

The Provost also noted that former students at the institution ‘have made us proud’ and we receive ‘constant heartwarming reports about them from their employers’ while adding that  ‘by the grace of Almighty God, we will be receiving positive reports from you too’.
