1st Anniversary: Gov Nasir Idris Chronicles His Achievements, Promises To Maintain The Tempo

An elated Kebbi state governor, Comrade Dr.Nasir Idris, who is the Kauran Gwandu, gleefully submitted on Wednesday that his administration has recorded a myriad of achievements in the last one year.
Mr Yahaya Sarki, who is the governor’s Special Adviser on Media, noted in a statement made available to Team@orientactualmags.com that Idris said this in a televised speech on Wednesday .
The Kauran Gwandu, who gave the citizens the needed information on the journey since 2023, the strides made by his administration across different sectors, and his vision for the state, also noted that he was happy to ‘look and see’ the several developments that have been recorded in the last one year saying, ‘I feel fulfilled’.
‘I must give gratitude to the Almighty for giving me the opportunity to fulfill the promises I have made to the people of the state and we will maintain the tempo’ he added.
The governor said the last one year has been a journey filled with opportunities and moments of triumph.
He recalled that he has promised to serve with integrity, dedication and utmost commitment and he has so far ,fared well in this respect.
Dr. Idris added that within the first one hundred days of his administration all the key political appointments were made and the government swung into action thereafter.
In the same vein, vehicles were provided to everyone and the legislators, including himself and his deputy, among others .
Acknowledging a spike in the IGR of the state, Dr.Idris said transparency and accountability in spending funds were also assured.
According to the governor, the state government is not owing salaries ,pensions and gratuity, ditto the 21 LGAs.
The Kauran Gwandu also disclosed that relief materials and ‘palliatives’, were among other numerous gestures of goodwill extended to IDPs and other vulnerable.
Dr.Idris added that upon multimillion investments at the Kebbi Airport, pilgrims are being transported to Saudi Arabia from there unlike what was the situation before.
They would have to move to Sokoto before leaving for Jeddah.
On security, the governor lamented the pathetic security situation when he assumed office in 2023.
He, however, expressed happiness that with tremendous investments, the situation has improved drastically across the state.
On education, the governor said several renovation works were either completed or ongoing, while facilities were provided for various schools, at all levels, among other efforts to improve quality of education in the state.
Dr. Idris added that efforts are on to upgrade the urban centres, especially to give Birnin Kebbi a befitting status as a state capital.
On civil service, the governor said steps are being taken to improve service delivery to the people of the state.
‘Salary is being paid in the third week of every month even without FAAC allocations, while we have among other strides, increased the monthly cash allocations to the MDAs’ he said.
The governor added that mulitibillion naira investments were also made and still being made to ensure the provision of accessible, affordable and quality healthcare for the people of the state.
The Kauran Gwandu also said the same efforts were also replicated in the agricultural sector to guarantee food security and value addition for the various categories of farmers.
He noted that it was only Kebbi state that provided free fertilizers, inputs and other implements to encourage people of the state to produce more food.
‘Whatever we have done at the state level has been done by the LGAs to ease things for the people.
They have successfully executed several developmental projects and boosted security as we have not interfered in their affairs.
We will sustain these modest achievements to honour our contract with the people of the state.
We will continue to spend their money to bolster their comfort and welfare as the money belongs to them’ the Kauran Gwandu promised.
