2 Kogi Poly Students Die From Suspected Carbon Monoxide Poisoning,1 Hospitalized
20 -year-old Bilikisu Eleojo, and Ibrahim Haliru , who are students at the Kogi state Polytechnic, Lokoja, have died from suspected carbon monoxide poisoning. .
A generating set that was switched on was reportedly placed close to the window of their room.
Team@orientactualmags.com learned that Spokesman for the Nigeria Police Force in the state, William Ovye Aya, a Superintendent of Police, who has confirmed the incident, noted that the generating set was placed close to the window of the room of the victims, who had retired to bed but sadly died in their sleep.
‘There were three Kogi state Polytechnic students inside the room. One Bilikisu Tijani Eleojo, 20 years old, Ibrahim Haliru, and Mercy Ojochegbe.
When they slept inside their room, a generating set was switched on and placed close to the window of their room.
They all slept off and inhaled carbon monoxide, Bilikisu Tijani Eleojo, and Ibrahim Haliru were already dead when neighbours discovered the sad development in the morning while Mercy Ojochegbe who was still breathing was immediately rushed to the hospital.
The incident was reported at the ‘B’ Division of the Nigeria Police Force Lokoja and investigation is ongoing’ he said.
