2 Quadragenarians Die While Trying To Retrieve Mobile Phone From Pit Latrine In Kano

Usman Muhammed and Ibrahim Inuwa, have died while trying to retrieve a mobile phone that fell into a pit latrine in Bazabe village, Albasu Local Government, Kano State.

Team@orientactualmags.com learned that Usman and Ibrahim are quadragenarians and they were rescued and rushed to the hospital where they were declared as brought-in-dead patients.
Spokesman for Kano State Fire Service, Alhaji Saminu Abdullahi, disclosed in a statement he issued in Kano on Sunday that the deceased men suffocated and died before the arrival of first responders.
‘We received an emergency call at Takai fire station from one Inspector Auwalu at about 11:16 am, that two men were trapped in a pit latrine.
We immediately sent our team to the scene of the incident to rescue the victims.
Muhammed was trying to retrieve his handset that fell into the pit latrine, when he got trapped.
Thereafter, the second victim, Inuwa, tied a rope around him, entered the pit latrine with the intention to help him out but also got trapped’ he said.
Saminu added that they were rescued unconscious and taken to a hospital where doctors declared them as brought-in-dead patients.
