As Osun state people look forward to getting to know what will be the eventual decision of the Governorship Election Petition Tribunal headed by Justice Tetse Kume, the state APC on Thursday declared 7 Days of fasting and prayer beginning from today, Friday, 20 January 2023 .
The state APC urged party members to do this in order to seek God’s favour and get a favourable judgment at the governorship election tribunal which is expected to deliver its ruling very soon.
Acting Chairman of the state APC, Sooko Tajudeen Lawal, who disclosed this in Osogbo, the state capital, added that it was necessary for the party to seek divine support after doing everything legally allowed at the tribunal for the retrieval of what he referred to as former Governor Gboyega Oyetola’s ‘stolen mandate’ .
It will be recalled that gubernatorial election was held in the state on July 16, 2022 , while the Independent National Electoral commission (INEC) had announced Governor Ademola Adeleke, who was the PDP guber candidate, as winner of the election, Alhaji Adegboyega Oyetola of the All Progressives Congress (APC) had however filed a petition against his declaration as winner of the guber election.
Acting Chairman of the state APC on Thursday reminded party members and supporters that everything needs prayer for the attainment of perfection and as a potent insulation against the powers and principalities of the underworld.
Lawal added that he believes in the efficacy of prayers and that there are no challenges that are greater than the powers of prayers.
He appealed to the APC members not to treat the party’s directive that they should embark on 7 Days of fasting and prayer with levity, stating that he was convinced that the God he serves who has never let him down would perform wonders in the party members’ collective request and expectation.
Team@orientactualmags.com learned he also quoted supporting Bible verse ‘For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places’ Ephesians 6:12.
Lawal told party members that it would be important for them to remember to pray for continued good health for Oyetola and his deputy, Mr Bennedict Alabi and members of their families during the recommended fasting and prayer period.
He also urged them to pray for the state for the quick restoration of its lost and dwindling glory among the comity of other states in the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
Lawal also tasked the APC members with praying for the success of the APC presidential candidate , Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and other candidates of the party in the upcoming general election.
He added that it would equally be important to also pray against the shedding of blood by desperate and disgruntled politicians who may want to introduce violence during the general election- Team@orientactualmags.com Do you have any information you wish to share with us?
