2022 Igbo Day: Gov Abdulrazaq Congratulates Ndigbo, Restates Commitment To Inclusive Governance
Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has congratulated Igbo community in Kwara state on the occasion of the 2022 Igbo Day celebration held in Ilorin, the Kwara state capital.
The Governor, who described the occasion as remarkable, noted that cultural events ‘are reminders of our origin, roots, and the richness of our history in the face of globalization’.
He added that while the advantages of globalization are well- appreciated, especially in the area of trade, caution must however be taken in order not to abandon the Nigerian culture and mannerism.
Team@orientactualmags.com learned the governor, who was represented by his Deputy, Mr Kayode Alabi, expressed appreciation to the Ndigbo community for their ingenuity and contributions to the growth of the state.
‘In line with our inclusive policy, we have ensured that no segment of our community is without a say in our administration and the goodies it has to offer’ he said.
‘This speaks to our belief in inclusive growth and unity in diversity. This is the spirit that should guide us as a nation and propel us to prosperity. We are stronger together’ he added.
Governor AbdulRazaq urged Kwarans Irrespective of ethnic or religious divide to unite and work together to make the state greater, more peaceful and harmonious.
Earlier in his address, the President General of Igbo community in Kwara state, Sir T. N Nsoku had on behalf of the Community expressed appreciation to the Governor for appointing an Igbo man as Special Assistant. He commended the citizens of the state for being great hosts to the Igbo people in the state.
Also speaking, the governor’s Special Assistant on Inter-community Relations (Igbo), Barrister Chukwugozie Igwebuike noted with delight that history had been made with the presence of a sitting Governor at a special occasion organized by the Igbo people in the state..
He assured that the Igbo community in the state will support the Governor’s re-election bid.
