As electioneering begins officially on 28 September 2022 ahead of the 2023 General Election, PDP Presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar on Monday announced the appointment of six individuals who would be playing strategic and important roles as campaign team members. No one among them is standing as a candidate in the upcoming elections.
Team@orientactualmags.com learned Atiku’s Media Adviser, Mr Paul Ibe, who announced this in a statement on Monday, noted that this was done to strengthen the former Vice President’s campaign team.
The new appointees comprised two former senate presidents, two former governors, a one-time PDP National Chairman and a former senator.
Former Senate President, Chief Pius Anyim, Senator Ibrahim Shekarau, former governor Olagunsoye Oyinlola and former Senator Ehigie Uzamere were named as Special Advisers.

Former Senate President , Dr Abubakar Bukola Saraki and former PDP National Chairman, Prince Uche Secondus were appointed as ‘Special Envoy’ and Technical Adviser respectively.
Noting that the appointments take immediate effect, Ibe added that Atiku Abubakar has urged Oyinlola and others to use their vast political experiences in ensuring that the PDP presidential campaign records resounding success in the 2023 presidential election.
While Prince Uche Secondus may have been given the role of handling ‘special assignments’ for the former Vice President as Technic Adviser, that of Saraki may be somewhat determinable because of what his title connotes.
He would be playing the role of a representative and may also coordinate ‘international activities ‘ for the PDP presidential candidate.
Saraki, who was then the Senate President, had not only accompanied Atiku to the United States of America in January 2019 but had also played a central role during the trip- Team@orientactualmags.com
