2023 Bauchi Guber Election: Appeal Court Upholds Tribunal Ruling That Affirmed Gov Bala Mohammed’s Victory
The Court of Appeal , Abuja, has dismissed the appeal challenging Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed’s victory in the gubernatorial election held in Bauchi state on March 18, 2023 .
Team@orientactualmags.com learned that the Appeal Court through a three-member panel unanimously held that the appeal by retired AVM Sadique Abubakar, who was the APC candidate in the said election, lacked merit.
In the lead judgment delivered by Justice Chidiebere Nwaoma Uwa on Friday, the appeal court held that Abubakar and the APC failed to prove the allegations of malpractices and non-compliance with the Electoral Act, 2022 against Governor Mohammed and the PDP.
Recall that Chairman of the Bauchi state Election Petition Tribunal, Justice P.T Kwahar, had on September 20 , 2023, dismissed the petition filed by retired Air Marshal Sadique Abubakr and upheld Bala Mohammed’s victory-Team@orientactualmags.com
