2023 Kano Guber Election Outcome: It’s Semi-Final For Gov Yusuf, Nasiru Gawuna
The Court of Appeal , Abuja will tomorrow, Monday, November 6, 2023 , deliver its ruling on the appeal filed by Governor Abba Yusuf of Kano state which has to do with the outcome of the gubernatorial election held in the state on March 18, 2023.
Recall that the electoral umpire, Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) , had through the Returning Officer, Prof. Ahmad Doko Ibrahim , declared Governor Abba Yusuf, who was the Kano state NNPP governorship candidate , winner of the 2023 gubernatorial election.
Yusuf got 1,019,602 votes while his main rival, the APC candidate , Nasiru Yusuf Gawuna had 890,705 votes.
However, the Kano state Governorship Election Petition Tribunal in the ruling delivered virtually by Justice Oluyemi Akintan Osadabey in September declared Alhaji Nasiru Gawuna winner of the election after cancelling some votes recorded by the NNPP candidate.
The three-member panel had also ordered the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to withdraw the certificate of return earlier issued and presented to Governor Yusuf and issue a fresh one in favour of Gawuna.
Team@orientactualmags.com learned that Governor Yusuf had since appealed the ruling and the Court of Appeal will deliver ruling on this tomorrow.
It is however semi-final for Gawuna and Governor Yusuf at the appeal court being the stage preceding the final- the Supreme Court-Team@orientactualmags.com
