Four NNPP national Assembly candidates in Osun state have justified their decision to support the APC presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu for president in place of former Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso.
They also asserted that the NNPP structure in the state has collapsed.
Team@orientactualmags.com learned Clement Bamigbola, who signed a statement on behalf of others, said this was done in reaction to the statement earlier issued by the state NNPP caretaker chairman , Abdusalam Abiola, who had described the four National Assembly candidates that endorsed Tinubu as liabilities that would not be missed by the party.
It would be recalled that four NNPP candidates; Clement Bamigbola, Osun Central Senatorial, Bolaji Akinyode, Osun West Senatorial, Olalekan Fabayo, and Oluwaseyi Ajayi of Boluwaduro/Ifedayo/Ila, and Ijesa South Federal Constituencies respectively, had said they will not be supporting the NNPP presidential candidate, former Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso citing lack of transparency in the running of the affairs of the party at the national level.
‘Our decision to support Asiwaju Bola Tinubu in the 2023 general election serves as an evidence of the Osun state NNPP’s imminent collapse.
It is unfortunate to see the so-called acting chairman referring to the party candidates as irrelevant members. It shows the man in question knows nothing about politics. As at today, NNPP is dead in Osun state’ the NNPP National Assembly candidates said -Team@orientactualmags.com
