2024 US Presidential Election: Trump Announces JD Vance As His Running Mate

Ahead of Tuesday, November 4, 2024, presidential election in the United States of America, immediate past president of the country, Mr Donal Trump, who has won the GOP presidential nomination, has chosen an Ohio Senator, Mr JD Vance as his running mate.

Team@orientactualmags.com learned that the Republican National Convention (RNC) delegates formally chose 39-year-old Vance on Monday after Trump announced on social media  that he had chosen him after ‘lengthy deliberation and thought’.

Mr Vance , who is the  author of the bestselling memoir-turned-film Hillbilly Elegy,  had in the past  criticized Trump and once suggested privately that he could be ‘America’s Hitler’ but he (Vance) later  became the former president’s ardent supporter.

Trump submitted on the Truth Social platform that the book in question ‘championed the hardworking men and women of our country’.

‘As Vice President, J.D. will continue to fight for our Constitution, stand with our Troops, and will do everything he can to help me make America great again’  he added.

In the 2022 midterm elections, Vance won a seat in the US Senate with Trump’s endorsement – his first time being elected to public office.

‘It’s an incredible pick. Truly a great choice’  Trump’s son, Donald Trump Jr, submitted at the RNC.

Recall that Trump had  survived an attempt on his life at a rally in Pennsylvania two days ago.

Recall also that Michael Richard Pence  had served as Vice President  from 2017 to 2021 under  Donald Trump but this time around, the former president has opted for a new face.

Before boarding Air Force One for campaign events in Las Vegas on Monday, President Joe Biden told reporters that Mr. Vance was ‘a clone of Trump on the issues’ adding that he did not ‘see any difference’ between them.

Rep. Annie Kuster (D-N.H.),  who is the chairman of the center-left New Democrat Coalition,  also called emergence of Vance as Trump’s running mate ‘Despicable’.

A Biden campaign official said on Monday that Vice President Kamala Harris has  called Senator J.D. Vance  and left a message to congratulate him on being chosen as former President Donald Trump’s running mate.
