2025 Budget: Enugu Govt Plans To Spend N10b On Surveillance Technology Project
Enugu State Government would be spending N10 billion on installations of Closed Circuit Television security cameras at strategic locations in the state in order to enhance security.
Team@orientactualmags.com learned that the Commissioner for Budget and Planning, Chief Chris-Roberts Ozongwu, disclosed this while giving a breakdown of the 2025 budget estimates on Saturday.
Recall that Governor Peter Mbah had proposed N971.08 billion for fiscal year 2025 with N837.94 billion allocated to capital expenditure and N133.14 billion to recurrent expenditure.
It was titled ‘Budget of Exponential Growth and Inclusive Prosperity’.
Ozongwu explained that high-tech CCTV cameras, equipped with searchlights, would be installed at bus stops, junctions in densely populated areas, and major highways in the state and all these would be connected to a centralized monitoring system to ensure effective monitoring and coordination of the state’s security network.
This surveillance technology is designed to make Enugu State safe and secure, thereby positioning it as the number one destination for wealthy Nigerians and foreign investors to do business and live peacefully.
‘The government will also spend N5 billion on procuring official and security vehicles in 2025, which will complement the substantial investment in over 100 security vehicles already made in the state.
N1 billion is also earmarked for upgrading and equipping the Enugu State Security Outfit, including training and retraining of security personnel and the procurement of vehicles for security monitoring, among other initiatives’ he said-Team@orientactualmags.com Do you have any information you wish to share with us?
