Kwara State Ministry of Education and Human Capital Development explained on Tuesday that the incorrect assertions made by Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq on WAEC/NECO Fees in his 2025 budget speech last week was unintended.
Peter Amogbonjaye , who is the Press Secretary of the Ministry of Education and Human Capital Development clarified in the statement he issued in Ilorin and made available to Team@orientactualmags.com that the wrong assertions were not made intentionally while noting that the blame should be laid at the door of the ministry.
‘The Kwara State Ministry of Education and Human Capital Development wishes to clarify that what the state government paid for was the Placement Common Entrance Examination, while it also subsidized the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) for the Junior Secondary School students.
The State government, through our Ministry, only conducted the Pre-WAEC and NECO activities. It did not fund these examinations. They are sponsored by the parents. This mix-up, as inserted in the budget speech of His Excellency, Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, came from the Ministry of Education and Human Capital Development.
