2025 Junior World Championships: Gov Abdulrazaq, Ladi Hassan Commend Abdul Jabar Adama For Doing Kwara Proud

Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq on Sunday led other prominent Kwarans in congratulating Abdul Jabar Adama for doing the state proud.

Recall that Abdul Jabar Adama had made history as the first Nigerian swimmer to claim a medal at the World Aquatics Junior Swimming Championships in Romania during the weekend.

The World Aquatics Junior Swimming Championships 2025 was held in Romania, Otopeni between August 19 and August 24, 2025.

 The six-day competition took place at the Aquatics Complex, a facility purpose-built for hosting world-class international swimming events with a 2,400-seating capacity.

Apart from getting Nigeria’s first global medal at the championships, Adama also broke two national records in a single day.

His previous Nigerian record of 23.81 seconds was first lowered to 23.61 seconds in the preliminaries and then further improved to 23.48 seconds in the semifinals.

Abdul Jabar is from Ebodaniyan family, Ita Elefun, Alanamu, Ilorin.

 Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq in a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Rafiu Ajakaye noted that the latest win has further proved ‘the bonafides of the 17-year-old Adama’ who , he noted, ‘recently won two gold medals for Nigeria at the 16th Africa Junior Swimming Championships in Cairo in April and May, 2025’. 

‘We are confident that this is just the start of a career that is destined for the highest honour attainable.

We wish Adama, the national swimming sensation, a brighter future in good health and amid increasing national and global recognitions’ the statement added.

Former Chief of Staff, Government House, Ilorin, Alhaji Ladi Hassan has also sent his message of congratulations to Abdul Jabar Adama calling him a ‘good ambassador’ of Kwara State.

Alhaji Ladi Hassan in a statement he issued in Ilorin and made available to Team@orientactualmags.com on Sunday noted that Abdul Jabar demonstrated strong willpower and showed the needed stamina, technique, and speed during the swimming competition.

‘Abdul Jabar has done the state proud, he has made a significant positive contribution and we congratulate him, we are incredibly proud of him.
