2025 Lagos LG Elections: Sons Of Prominent APC Bigwigs Who Are Seeking Party Nominations

As the people of Lagos State get prepared for the local government elections in the Centre of Excellence, members and stakeholders in the state APC are also taking steps to ensure that their interests are adequately protected.

Recall that the Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission (LASIEC) had announced last week that local government elections will hold in the state on July 12, 2025.
Believing that those who emerge as candidates of the ruling APC have a shot at winning, the state APC bigwigs are taking necessary steps to ensure the emergence of their sons as chairmanship candidates.
While some among them are seeking party nominations for the first time, others are mounting a comeback bid for chairmanship.
Alhaji Wasiu Ayinde Marshall, who is popularly called K1, is one of the important stakeholders in the Lagos State APC and his former Band Manager, Adebayo Olasoju , is seeking to get party nomination and retain his position as chairman of Isolo LCDA.

Chief Adeseye Ogunlewe, who served as Minister of Works from July 2003 to March 2006, is having his son, Hon Moyosore Ogunlewe among APC chairmanship aspirants in Kosofe local government.

Usman Hamzat is also seeking to get party nomination in Ifako-Ijaiye local government.

His father, Alhaji Muftau Hamzat, served as Commissioner for Transport during the Lateef Jakande administration while his elder brother, Mr Obafemi Hamzat is currently the Deputy Governor.
A GAC member, who is the head of the party in Badagry division, Chief Rabiu Oluwa, also has his son, Hon Naheem Agbolade Oluwa among chairmanship aspirants in Ajeromi –Ifelodun local government.

Son of the Chairman of GAC, Pa Tajudeen Olusi, Tijani Olusi is also seeking to get party nomination in Lagos Island local government.

Son of late Alhaji Lateef Jakande, Jide, is seeking to emerge as APC chairmanship candidate in Odi Olowo/Ojuwoye LCDA while Segun Odunmbaku, son of Chief James Odumbaku would like to retain his position as chairman of Ojodu LCDA.

AbdulGaniyu Obasa, son of the Speaker of the state House of Assembly, Hon Mudasiru Obasa is a chairmanship aspirant in Agege local government and he has a high chance of winning party nomination as co-aspirants have reportedly taken turns to withdraw from the race and endorse his candidacy-Team@orientactualmags.com Do you have any information you wish to share with us?
