2026 Guber: Massive Turnout, Peaceful Election As Osun Residents Await Final Tally Of Votes, Official Declaration Of Results
Voting ended across the 3,763 polling stations in Osun State on Saturday and anxious citizens are waiting for the final election results.
It was a high-stakes voting day, polls opened at 8.30 am and there were already orderly lines of Osun State residents eager to cast their ballots. It was peak attendance at almost all the polling stations.
Voters turned out in massive numbers for the 2026 Osun State gubernatorial election with observers describing it as peaceful, orderly, and transparent.





Although 15 political parties fielded candidates and participated in the election, it was eventually a two-party race between the APC and Accord Party while ADC that was seen as a political party that may spring a surprise got zero in a good number of the polling stations.
The final count of all votes cast to see who won the election has been concluded and people are awaiting the official declaration of results by the nation’s electoral umpire, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
The 2026 guber election election has been called the most critical election in the history of Osun State and it has witnessed memorable events.
Abdulwahab Abdulhameed handled a special assignment for members of the Accord Party in unit 13, Okeriwo, Ijebu Ijesa, Ward 3 and this has made him be in the news.

The young chap stood a few meters away from the polling station and he was frying puff-puff and giving it to everyone irrespective of political party affiliation.

He said this was done to help them in building physical resilience.
‘Our people are here, we need to support them to have the needed strength to stand for hours, we are giving it to everyone . This is just to show appreciation to those who have come out to vote’ he said.
In the meanwhile, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) resumed the uploading of results of the governorship election to its Result Viewing Portal (IReV) on Saturday night at 11:45 p.m.
Recall that the electoral body had suspended this at 8:48 pm after results from 3,557 polling stations had been made available on the portal representing 94.53 per cent.
IReV is INEC’s online platform for publishing scanned copies of polling unit result sheets, allowing voters, political parties, candidates, observers and other stakeholders to independently view results as they get uploaded
