2026 Osun Guber: APC Candidate ‘ll Be Elected By Acclamation In Osogbo Today-Edo Governor
Ahead of August 8, 2026 gubernatorial election in Osun State, 1,660 delegates will today, Saturday, December 13, 2025, gather in Osogbo, the state capital, to elect the APC guber candidate by acclamation, chairman of the committee tasked with overseeing the party’s Governorship Primary, Governor Monday Okpebholo, has submitted.
Team@orientactualmags.com learned that Governor Monday Okpebholo disclosed this during the meeting held with stakeholders in Osun State APC including the chairman of the party in the state, Sooko Tajudeen Lawal, and former Speaker Timothy Owoeye in Osogbo on Friday.

Recall that it had become clear that former Managing Director of the National Inland Waterways Authority (NIWA), Mr Bola Oyebamiji will emerge as ‘sole candidate’ following the meeting held with the APC guber aspirants by President Bola Tinubu in Abuja on Tuesday night.
‘This gathering speaks to our collective resolve, not only to strengthen internal democracy but to also reclaim Osun State ,return it to the progressive fold and restore purposeful leadership to the state.
The purpose of this meeting is to formally brief you on the arrival of the primary election committee in the state and to outline certain modalities that will guide Saturday’s exercise.
Transparency is key and we want every stakeholder to understand the process publicly. As you are all already aware, the mode of the primary will be consensus. All 1,660 accredited delegates will gather at the designated avenue to affirm the choice of our party’s candidate for the next gubernatorial election.
Let me emphasize that no delegates will be allowed into the venue without the proper accreditation. This is to ensure fairness and accountability throughout the process’ he said.
