2026 Osun Guber: Former Senator Mudashir Hussain Launches Gubernatorial Bid In Osogbo
Mudashir Hussain, who was at different times a member of the House of Representatives and the Senate, launched his gubernatorial bid in Osogbo, Osun State capital, on Tuesday.
The former federal lawmaker represented Oshodi/Isolo Federal Constituency, Lagos State between 1999 and 2007, and Osun Central senatorial district from June 2011 to May 2015.
Team@orientmags.com learned that he announced his decision to run for governor in the upcoming 2026 gubernatorial election after meeting with members of the State Working Committee of APC and other stakeholders in the party in Osogbo on Tuesday.
Gubernatorial election is scheduled to hold in the state in August next year.
The guber hopeful asserted that he has the required experience to handle governorship duties and responsibilities.
‘In terms of experience, I swear to the Almighty God, I have what it takes to govern this state.
As a member of the House of Representatives in Lagos State for eight years and a member of the Senate for four years, and having served as a Federal Commissioner and acting Secretary to the State Government in Osun State, what else do you want as governor? If it’s experience, I have it.
APC is rooted in the country and in Osun, so, there’s nothing to fear. We are taking over the government of Osun State in 2026. I am confident that I am going to govern this state’ he submitted.
Hussein however noted that all the current 12 APC guber aspirants are qualified and would readily support whoever eventually gets the gubernatorial nomination.
‘All of us, the twelve aspirants, are qualified. We have the capacity to deliver. Whoever the party hierarchy chooses, we are bound by the constitution and the rules of the party to support them’ he said.
The state APC chairman, Sooko Tajudeen Lawal noted that having a good number of party members as guber aspirants is a good development and a clear sign that the party will win the upcoming guber election-Team@orientactualmags.com
