2027: Talks ‘Progressing Well’, No Decision Yet On ‘Political Party’, Mischief-makers Trying To Divide Opposition Leaders-Salihu Lukman
Although opposition leaders in the country are holding meetings and deliberating on strategies to adopt in getting the ruling APC out of power in 2027, they are however yet to take a decision on the political party that will serve as a vehicle to get this done, former APC National Vice Chairman (North-West), Mr Salihu Lukman, has submitted.
He had done this in reaction to the media report claiming that the opposition leaders including former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and Mallam Nasir El-Rufai, have chosen African Democratic Congress (ADC) as their new political party.
Lukman has described the media report as false and misleading.
Team@orientactualmags.com learned that Lukman made this clarifications in a statement he issued in Abuja on Thursday.
The former Director-General of the Progressive Governors’ Forum also denied the claim that he has been appointed to head the secretariat of the coalition, adding that the media report is being promoted by mischief-makers.
Mr Lukman assured Nigerians that once the ongoing meetings produce definitive decisions, a formal announcement will be made by the opposition leaders.
‘The public should disregard the story as it is completely false. No such decision has been taken. Also false is the report that the coalition has adopted the ADC at its meeting on Tuesday, May 20, 2025.
The truth is negotiations among all the coalition leaders are progressing very well, and final decisions about the political platform for the 2027 election will be taken soon.
Unfortunately, there appears to be some mischief- makers promoting and planting stories in the media with the clear aim of sowing seeds of discord among coalition leaders.
The public and the media should please disregard all these mischievous stories’ he said-Team@orientactualmags.com Do you have any information you wish to share with us?
