Three among the cops providing security for Senator Ifeanyi Ubah were feared dead on Sunday after gunmen opened fire on his convoy, some among his personal aides were also said to be affected. Ubah represents Anambra South in the senate .
Team@orientactualmags.com learned Ubah escaped being killed because he was inside a bulletproof Jeep (SUV) .
Some had described the incident as an assassination attempt on the senator , who is a member of the Young People’s Party, YPP.
The incident was recorded in Enugwu Ukwu community ,Njikoka local government area of the state on Sunday.
‘Ifeanyi Ubah’s convoy came under attack in Enugwu Ukwu this evening. He was ambushed by heavily armed men who opened fire on his convoy. Some of his aides were killed, including some police officers.
The senator managed to escape as his car was riddled with bullets. I was driving up to that spot from the link road to the expressway when some people inside a shop shouted at me and asked me to turn back and take another road, which I did’ an eyewitness said.
It will be recalled that gunmen had in March 2021 attacked the then Anambra state APGA guber candidate, Charles Soludo in Aguata local government area of the state and while the governor escaped unhurt three policemen among those providing security for him were not that lucky as they were shot dead – Team@orientactualmags.com
