38-Year-Old Man Faces Charges After Attacking Woman With Cutlass During Argument In Ondo
Charges have been preferred against a 38-year-old artisan, Odun Ogedengbe, who attacked a woman with a cutlass during an argument in Ondo state.
Team@orientactualmags.com learned that he was brought before Chris Ojuola of Okitipupa Chief Magistrates’ Court , Ondo state on Thursday.
The defendant whose address was not given has been charged with assault, breach of peace and felony.
The Prosecutor, Zedekiah Orogbemi, told the court that the defendant committed the offence on August 19, at about 10am in Igodan , Okitipupa.
Orogbemi said the defendant conducted himself in a manner likely to cause a breach of peace and assaulted the complainant, Ms Onome Adekunle, with a cutlass during an argument .
He added that the complainant sustained face injuries. The offence according to him contravened the provisions of sections 239 (d), 355 and 516 of the Criminal Code, Cap.37, Vol. 1, Law of Ondo State, 2006.
The defendant, however, pleaded not guilty and the Chief Magistrate, Chris Ojuola, set his bail at N200,000 with one surety in like sum.
He later adjourned the case until September 18 for further hearing-Team@orientactualmags.com
