70th Birthday: Ataoja, Oyebamiji, Adejare Bello, Omowaiye, Tadese, BANIK, Others Gather In Honour Of Oyetola In Osogbo

People from all walks of life gathered in Osogbo, the Osun State capital, on Sunday to celebrate the milestone achievements and the 70th birthday of the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Alhaji Adegboyega Oyetola with great fanfare.
The minister, who is also the immediate past governor of Osun State, turned 70 on Sunday, September 29, 2024.
A statement made available to Team@orientactualmags.com on Sunday noted that a prayer service was held to mark the minister’s 70th birthday at the popular Tinubu/Shettima Campaign Office, Ogo-Oluwa area, Osogbo adding that the attendees took turns to shower encomiums on the birthday celebrant.
The event was attended by the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer, National Inland Waterways Authority, NIWA, Mr. Bola Oyebamiji; Director General, Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency, NIMASA, Dr. Dayo Mobereola; Executive Director, Federal Housing Authority, FHA, Engr. Oluremi Omowaiye; Federal Commissioner, National Population Commission, NPC, Dr. Amidu Tadese; President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Director of Protocol , Alhaji Issa Niniola; immediate past Nigerian Ambassador to Mexico, Hon. Adejare Bello; immediate past Federal Commissioner, National Population Commission, former Senator Mudashiru Hussain; Alhaji Shuaib Oyedokun, former Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Prince Bayo Adeleke aka BANIK, former Osun State Deputy Governors, former Speakers of the State House of Assembly, former members of the State and National Assemblies; top government functionaries; heads of agencies, business tycoons, corporate heads among others.
The event was also graced by traditional rulers including the Ataoja of Osogbo, Oba Jimoh Oyetunji Olanipekun and Aragbiji of Iragbiji, Oba Abdul-Rasheed Olabomi, also in attendance were clerics including the Chief Imam of Offa, Kwara State, Sheikh Muyideen Saliman, who was the Guest Lecturer, the Chief Imam of Osogbo, Sheikh Musa Animasahun, among others.



Oyetola ,who attended the event virtually, thanked the sponsors of the series of events organized to mark his 70th birthday while expressing gratitude to Almighty God for sparing his life to become another year older.
The former Osun state governor used the occasion to urge unity among APC members in the state while assuring them that he will continue to provide quality leadership as the leader of the party in the state and as a national figure.
Oyetola, who couldn’t hide his joy as shown in his facial expression upon seeing a large number of people that attended the event, described the occasion as a point of call to further strengthen the existing unity, love, cohesion and harmony.
Emphasizing the efficiency of prayers as pointer to success and antidote to yokes, he further implored leaders and members of the party to continue to uphold the pillar of God, maintain and sustain the tempo of unity and progress which the progressive family is known for.
While applauding the planning committee headed by former Speaker Timothy Owoeye in particular and sponsors of the events in general, he alluded to the successes recorded through the Ilerioluwa free medical outreach that attended to the pressing health needs of close to 5000 Osun residents.
‘I am very surprised to be warmly celebrated in this quality manner. This is just a great thing coming to me and my family. I never had the premonition of such but today, I thank God for the whole success of the events. I am in far away Saudi Arabia for the lesser hajj but this is a great thing. I am very happy for the show of love and for the unity and peace existing in the party. I want to appeal to us all to continue to cohabitate peacefully and work together as a united entity for the success and progress of our party. Nothing is as valuable as peace and cohesion.
I must sincerely appreciate the one-week long activities that culminated in this success. This shows the high level of unity and progress that exist within the party but we must not rest on our oars to continue to work together as a formidable entity’ he added.
Earlier in his sermon, the Chief Imam of Offa, Sheikh Muyideen Saliman acknowledged the rare virtues of the birthday celebrant in who he said he has always been pleased to have met in life.
The renowned cleric attributed the success of the event to the good deeds of the birthday celebrant who he described as a bridge builder of no equal means.
The significance of the programmes sponsored by the celebrant’s friends and associates to mark his 70th birthday , the Islamic cleric noted, was a testament to Oyetola’s ingenuity, wisdom and generosity. He called on the people to emulate the good gesture of the celebrant who he said has impacted tremendously in people’s lives .
