Governor Ademola Adeleke spent his first day in Bola Ige House, Abere on Monday, February 13 2023.

The Bola Ige House is the Osun state governor’s primary place of work, and it is about twenty minutes’ drive from the Government House, Oke Fia.

Though Adeleke was sworn in as sixth executive governor of Osun state  by the state Chief Judge, Justice Oyebola Adepele Ojo  on Sunday, November  27 2022 at the Osogbo City Stadium, he had since then used his Imole House campaign office as a temporary Governor’s office whilst the Bola Ige House was being renovated.

He is the second person among his siblings to become the Chief Executive of the state.

His elder brother, late Alhaji Isiaka Adeleke, who died on April 23  2017, had under his belt –a unique achievement.

He was the first civilian governor of Osun state , the late Isiaka Adeleke had served as governor of the state between 1992 and 1993.

The state lawmakers led by Speaker Timothy Owoeye were there for a meeting with the governor.

Adeleke’s Spokesman, Mr Olawale Rasheed in a statement made available to Team@orientactualmags.com  noted that the governor expressed his conviction that the visit by the lawmakers will strengthen the bond of partnership while commending  the legislature for extending  the hand of friendship.

‘I also want to use this opportunity to disclose the legislative agenda of our administration. Firstly, we want to support genuine upgrades of facilities at the State House of Assembly Complex. It is a task I am committed to.

Secondly, I will soon be submitting some executive bills for the consideration of the legislature.

The first bill is about Nigeria Startup Act. My administration wants it domesticated so we can access local and international support for our young entrepreneurs. The bill will align Osun with federal efforts and open doors for our start up innovators to get  funds with ease’  the  Governor noted.

The Nigeria Startup bill which was signed into law by President Muhammadu Buhari on  19 October 2022 provides the legal and institutional framework for the development and operation of startups in  the country..

Restating his commitment to unity in the state, Governor Adeleke assured the House Speaker that he remains a Governor for all Osun people, promising that ‘all projects started by the previous administration will be brought to completion’.

‘I will be fair to all under the rule of law and due process, I call for closer partnership. Let us push ahead strong collaboration in the best interest of our people’ he added.

The governor told the lawmakers that he has gone to Abuja to meet with Minister of Water Resources on how to complete the Ilesha water project which had according to him been abandoned due to the way the project was  handled by the contractors and other stakeholders in the state.

He added that  he doesn’t believe in politics of hatred or animosity citing how he allowed the APC presidential campaign council to make use of government property for their presidential rally.

‘Though, they didn’t allow me to make use of government facilities during our campaign, but God has helped us, so there is no reason to retaliate. We are here today by the grace of God, hence no reason to pay evil with evil’ he said.

While giving his speech earlier, Speaker Timothy Owoeye promised to partner with the Governor to move the state forward, saying ‘this is not about party affiliations but the interest of our dear state’.

Speaking on behalf of  his colleagues,  Speaker  Owoeye said ‘we are here to pay a courtesy call and also to tell you that we are joining hands with you to move the State forward.

We are putting politics aside. All that matters to us is how best we can join hands with you to develop our State. We can see that your administration has already commenced working. We pray that God will continue to strengthen you’.

The Deputy Governor, Prince Kola Adewusi, Secretary to the State Government, Hon. Teslim Igbalaye, Chief of Staff, Hon. Kazeem Akinleye, Rep  Bamidele Salam, who represents Ede North/Ede South/Egbedore/Ejigbo federal constituency,  , Head Of Service, Mr Ayanleye Aina and others  attended the meeting-  Team@orientactualmags.com Do you have any information you wish to share with us?
