Osun PDP Accuses APC Thugs Of Attacking Sanya Omirin’s Father In Ilesha
Osun state PDP has accused the APC of sponsoring the thugs that allegedly attacked the Ilesha residence of Pa Omirin on Friday . One of the octogenarian’s sons, Hon Sanya Omirin , is the Ijesha South PDP reps candidate.
PDP submitted that this development had caused a palpable fear and had made Pa Omirin and other residents of the area scamper for safety.
The party added that Chief Sunday Bisi, who is the immediate past State Chairman of the party, had a similar experience on the same day.
Chairman , Caretaker Committee, Osun state PDP, Dr Akindele Adekunle, noted in a statement made available to Team@orientactualmags.com that ‘this is a continuation of the pattern of violence carried out by the APC to intimidate members and supporters of the PDP from active participation in the upcoming elections’ .
“The rejected APC having realized the resolve of the people to vote against their candidates has taken to violence and had since begun to attack our party members and innocent citizens with the aim of scaring them away from the polling booth on the Election Day,
Just today, the homes of the fathers of Honourables Olusanya Omirin and Sunday Bisi came under fierce attacks by APC thugs, with evidence of the use of live bullets . Campaign posters and billboards of the PDP candidates in Ilesa East were violently defaced and destroyed and our members were targeted for vicious attacks.
Our immediate question as a party is what exactly is the sin of the old men that they were the target of APC attacks or is it just because they are the fathers of the two PDP chiefs?
This is pure evil and it is our passionate call on every lover of democracy to come to the aid of our party members in Ijeshaland, and by extension, the whole of Osun state, in the face of APC resort to violence’ the statement said.
The PDP also called on heads of security agencies in the state to come to the rescue of PDP members and supporters, warning that the party could not continue to guarantee the patience of members and supporters if the attacks continue unabated.
“We are committed to a peaceful election, but we will however warn that the PDP will not be intimidated by this attempt by APC to discourage our participation in the elections. We urge our members not to be provoked by the APC, and instead, continue to be focused on the drive to vote for all PDP candidates in the upcoming general election’ the statement concluded- Team@orientactualmags.com
