
The first Flour Mill in Sokoto, Kebbi and Zamfara states has begun operations in Birnin Kebbi, the Kebbi state capital.
The new company is the brainchild of the Governor Abubakar Atiku Bagudu administration.
Bagudu’s Special Adviser on Media, Mr Yahaya Sarki noted in a statement made available to Team@orientactualmags.com on Thursday that Governor Abubakar Atiku Bagudu, had since made an inspection visit to the company at Bulasa industrial zone , Birnin Kebbi .
The governor carried out a tour of inspection of the factory along with former Commissioner of Agriculture, Barrister Attahiru Maccido, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Agriculture, Mr. Joel Aiki and the Chief engineer of the company, Engr Musa Kudu ,an indigene of Nasarawa state.
Bagudu said his administration initiated the project to transform the industrial sector of the economy of the state and the country in general.
The governor, who is also the Vice Chairman of the National Food Security Council, said the project became a reality through the laudable and commendable efforts of the State Ministry of Agriculture and the Wheat Farmers Association.
The governor, who is also the Chairman of the Presidential Taskforce on Wheat and Rice Production, noted that Kebbi state and Nigeria were increasingly becoming important players in wheat production.
The new company , he noted, would add value to the economy of the state and that of the country while also expressing delight that it had begun operations just about two weeks to the start of the Ramadan fast.

He extolled President Muhammadu Buhari for raising the consciousness of Nigerians in respect of producing what they eat while also expressing optimism that the President-elect, former Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the Vice President-elect , former Senator Kashim Shetima will sustain this feat.
The Plant Engineer, Ayuba Musa Kudu had earlier told the Governor that the initial installed capacity of the Compact Milling System is 1,800 kg or 18 tonnes per hour.
