Guber Election: Kwara PDP Waves Off Defections, Says Party Members Still In ‘Upbeat Mood’
Kwara state PDP on Thursday waved off recent defections that were recorded in the state chapter asserting that party members and supporters have remained in upbeat mood ahead of the gubernatorial and House of Assembly elections scheduled to hold this weekend.
State Publicity Secretary, Prince Tunji Morounfoye noted in a statement made available to Team@orientactualmags.com that there was no cause for concern because the party had since focused on the voters who will determine the way things will go.
‘The Peoples Democratic party (PDP) , Kwara state chapter wishes to reassure our teeming members and supporters that we are still on course for victory in the Gubernatorial and State house of Assembly elections that will hold on Saturday 18th March 2023, Insha Allah.
Our resolve to unseat the mediocre Kwara All Progressives Congress (APC) is still unshaken.
We are aware of a few former members of our party who have moved to the APC for personal reasons, either seeking lucre from the kwara state executive governor, who has turned the state treasury into a ‘cash out application’ or to refresh their dwindled political future.
We at the PDP know that all the individual decampees from our party have no electoral future, having failed woefully in their electoral bids a number of times. We also want to remind the desperate, incompetent and inept kwara APC that, politicians whether PDP, APC or other political parties constitute less than 10% of the registered voters in any political setting.
Thus, we wonder why we should be bothered that individual politicians who constitute less than 10% of the voters had taken a decision to decamp’ the party said.
‘We at the PDP are unperturbed by the movement of single politicians from one party to another, we are more interested in solidly -rooted groups and whole Senatorial districts. We choose to be ‘Pound wise, and penny foolish’ unlike the incompetent kwara APC regime. Please, by all means let the mediocre APC regime keep celebrating individuals who have come to them for cash out opportunity and photo shoots with the governor.
It is already clear that the Kwara state APC regime will eventually meet their waterloo in a few days’ time, their lies, vile propaganda and lack of performance, after over half a trillion naira revenue and humongous unprecedented loans has come home to roost. How can a government be in place for four years, without a single completed or inaugurated landmark project?
Kwarans will surely reject the APC and vote the PDP into power, from our Governorship candidate, Alh. Shuaib Abdullahi Yaman to all our house of Assembly candidates, on Saturday the 18th of March 2023, By God’s Grace. (Amen.)’ the statement added-Team@orientactualmags.com
