10th Senate President: It Has Been Rain Of Money, Competence Jettisoned -Senator Ndume

Those seeking to become head of the 10th  senate  have engaged in financial inducement to ensure that they have the ‘full support’  of the newly elected senators and senators who would be retaining their parliament seats, Senator  Ali Ndume, has said.

  Ndume , a one-time Senate leader,  represents Borno South.

Team@orientactualmags.com learned Ndume, who said this  in an interview with BBC Hausa Service, added that some senators were engaging in financial inducement to ‘buy support’ at the expense of competence.

‘In the past, it was said that the vote of the poor is being bought, now it has reached a level that even a senator’s vote is being bought.

There are senators aspiring for the Senate President who give money to senators’ he said.

Those who know nothing about the legislative procedures are even according to him seeking to become Senate President , saying ‘but because they have money, they are now aiming for the seat’.

‘If I am rich and  I can share money as being done presently to get positions in the Senate, with my experience, I tell you I would have become the President of the Senate. There is nothing like considering competence, everything has been monetized’ he added- Team@orientactualmags.com
