Three days after media reports claimed that relations between him and his co-former Kano state governor, Senator Ibrahim Shekerau had gotten strained, NNPP presidential candidate ,former Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, has asserted that he has a good relationship with the senator.
He also explained reasons why the party could not meet one of the requests made by supporters of Shekarau.
Team@orientactualmags.com learned Kwankwaso, who said this during an interview with the BBC Hausa service , added that there is no rift between him and Shekarau, who is the Kano Central NNPP senate candidate .
Media reports had claimed that Skekerau was contemplating the idea of leaving NNPP for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) .
They had cited alleged failure to fulfill the terms of agreement that was reached before Shekarau’s defection to the party.
‘There is no agreement that was not fulfilled other than that of the contestants. We have tried our best to honour the agreement but time couldn’t permit us’ he said.
Some among the supporters of Shekerau according to him failed to get party nominations for elective offices ahead of the 2023 General Election because they joined the NNPP when INEC could no longer accept their nominations.
Kwankwaso however promised that if the NNPP records victory in the upcoming general election, the senator’s supporters would be considered for appointive positions- Team@orientactualmags.com
