2 Yahoo Boys Who Came To Ilorin For Money Rituals Arrested While Returning To Lagos

Two yahoo boys , who visited  a spiritualist in Ilorin ,Kwara state  to get  ‘a money charm’  that will  draw wealth and luck  to  them, have been arrested and taken into custody by the police .

The suspects; Abubakar Bamidele  and Odekunle Fawad  had left Lagos to visit Mahmud Abdulraheem , who lives in  Egbejila area of Ilorin and having gotten what they needed, the two young chaps were about leaving Ilorin for Lagos before getting arrested.

‘While on intelligence patrol of Ilorin Metropolitan areas, Oc CP Monitoring section and his team around General round about accosted the above- named suspects who  had already boarded  a commercial vehicle  and wanted  to leave Ilorin for  Lagos,  during  body search, assorted charms and other fetish items meant for ritual purposes were recovered from them. Upon interrogation, it was revealed that the second and third suspects came from Lagos to Ilorin to meet the first suspect who is a herbalist to prepare money charms for them.

It was also confirmed that the two suspects from Lagos are internet fraudsters popularly called Yahoo boys. They were on their way to Lagos to complete the money-making ritual process before  getting arrested’  Commissioner of Police, Mr. Paul Odama told journalists including Team@orientactualmags.com while presiding over the press conference held at the state police headquarters , Ilorin on Friday.

He also presented detailed information  on the case involving  the Chief Medical Director of Ayodele Hospital, Ilorin, Dr Ayodele Joseph.

The police chief  disclosed that Ayodele has had his name mentioned in connection with four separate criminal cases.

It will be recalled that a Magistrates’ Court in  Ilorin  had  on Wednesday ordered that  Ayodele, who was alleged to have put a female nurse under sedation and had sex with her, should be remanded in custody.

 ‘On the 5th of May, 2023, one female victim (Name Withheld) a nurse by profession reported to the Police that she visited Ayodele Hospital at No. 290, Sawmill Area, Lagos Road, Ilorin for surgery, the Chief Medical Director of the hospital, one Dr. Ayodele Joseph during the treatment sedated the patient which made her become unconscious, before the sedation, fearing any mishap, the patient had  unknown to the doctor gotten her mobile phone  placed in a vantage position to record the surgery.

She woke up later to find herself completely naked, and while viewing the recorded video, she discovered that the said Dr. Ayodele Joseph had an unlawful sexual intercourse with her while under sedation. 

Investigation led to the recovery of the  video in question which was also corroborated by the medical examinations conducted on the victim.

This same suspect (Dr. Ayodele Joseph) had  recently been arraigned by the Police for  offences bordering on  Criminal Conspiracy, Negligent Conduct, Causing Hurt by Act Endangering life or Personal Safety of Others and Culpable Homicide arising from his unprofessional conduct resulting in the death of one Nneka Akanike ‘F’ at his hospital under questionable circumstances which led to him being  made to face charges’ he said.

Those who snatched an unregistered Volkswagen Golf 3 saloon car  opposite Amala Place, along Fate road Ilorin,  two months ago , have also been arrested and taken into custody.

‘On 17th of April. 2023 at about 2205hrs, one Tijani Wasiu ‘m’ of Alalubosa Area Kishi , Oyo state reported at E Division, Kulende, Ilorin that at Amala Place along Fate road Ilorin, he was attacked by four masked armed men and his unregistered Volkswagen Golf 3 saloon car was snatched at gun point. 

Investigation into the matter led police detectives from the command to Bida , Niger state where one Olaoye Oladapo was arrested in possession of the stolen vehicle, and he confessed to being one of the robbers that snatched the vehicle from the victim. He also confessed to  being  released from prison recently  after serving a prison term of three years.

​Further investigation led to the arrest of the 2nd suspect Isaac Idowu ‘m’ who took part in the robbery operation. It is pertinent to state that the suspect has just been given state pardon and released from prison. Efforts are ongoing  to arrest  others suspects still at large.

​Investigation also revealed that the suspects are members of notorious robbery gang terrorizing some parts of the state and are in the habit of shooting their victims dead during such operations’ he added.

The police chief also disclosed that Adeniyi Wasiu  and Habeeb Morufu , who are both 27 years old, have been arrested for being in possession of illegal substances.

‘Acting on an actionable intelligence,  Adeniyi Wasiu ‘m’ , 27 years and Habeeb Morufu ‘m’ , 27 years were arrested at about 1100hrs of 10/05/23 at Alao Farm area of Tanke oke ogun Ilorin, Kwara state by cops attached to Anti- Narcotics section of the command.

 During investigation, the residences of the suspects were searched, and the following substances suspected to be illicit drugs were recovered by the detectives. 

(1) Some weeds suspected to be Indian hemp.

(2) Some sachets of Tramadol.

(3) 8 bottles of codeine syrup.

(4) Some sachets of ice.

(5) One sachet of Refnol.

(6) Some sachets of Colorado.

(7) Some sachets of Skunk.

During interrogation, the suspects confessed to being the owners of the drugs adding that they sell the illegal substances to students and interested members of the public’ he said.

CP Odama also noted that while all the suspects would have charges preferred against them and get arraigned , those who were arrested for being in possession of illegal substances would however be handed over to the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) for  further  investigation and prosecution–Team@orientactualmags.com
