Choosing Tinubu As Presidential Candidate Would’ve Been ‘Good Decision’ If Done 20 Years Ago-Peter Obi

Choosing Tinubu As Presidential Candidate Would’ve Been ‘Good Decision’ If Done 20 Years Ago-Peter Obi

Former governor of Anambra state, Mr. Peter Obi , has submitted that he would have considered the idea of President-elect, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu getting the APC presidential nomination last year a good development if this had been done twenty years ago.

Team@orientactualmags.com learned Obi, who said this during the 63rd birthday get-together  hosted by  Chief Dele Momodu, said he had joined the 2023 presidential race to ensure  that things work well in the country while expressing surprise that the ruling APC did not field Vice President Yemi Osinbajo as its presidential candidate for the 2023 presidential election.

It will be recalled that the APC presidential primary election held in Abuja  on June 8  2022  had Asiwaju Bola Tinubu and Vice President Yemi Osinbajo among the contestants.

While Tinubu , who got party nomination and eventually won the presidential election held on February 25 , 2023 ,  got 1,271 votes,  Osinbajo had 235 votes.

‘I am desperate to see Nigeria work, I can’t hide it. I even confronted them if you want it, why didn’t you bring Osinbajo so that we can have people who want to work for the country?

Nigeria needs a healthy person and someone like him working 24 hours. Let’s have the place working for everyone’  Obi submitted.

It will also be recalled that Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) , Prof. Mahmood Yakubu  had declared  Asiwaju Bola Tinubu , who was the APC presidential candidate,   winner  of the 2023 Presidential Election in February.

Tinubu had 8,794,726 votes , Atiku Abubakar, who was the PDP presidential candidate, got  6,984,520 votes,  Peter Obi  had 6,101,533 votes while the presidential candidate of the New Nigerian Peoples Party (NNPP), Rabiu Kwankwaso  got 1,496,687 votes.

PDP, LP, and some other parties had however rejected the  election outcome  and had asked the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal to annul Tinubu’s victory.

The president-elect ,Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, will be sworn in as the nation’s 6th executive president on May 29,2023 Team@orientactualmags.com Do you have any information you wish to share with us? Do you want us to cover your event or programme? Kindly send SMS to 08059100286, 09094171980. Thank you
