80-Year-Old Woman Raped To Death In Ondo
An 80-year-old woman has been reportedly raped to death at a farm in Ore, Ondo state.
Team@orientactualmags.com learned that the incident was recorded in the Costain area of the town.
The octogenarian , who had gone missing for days after leaving home for her farm , however had her naked body found a few days later.
‘This is not the first time we’re witnessing an ugly incident like this, several women have been raped at their farms by these hoodlums suspected to be herdsmen.
The fear of being attacked has prevented women from going to their farms alone for some time now.
Why they picked on this old woman has remained a mystery to us in the community
The octogenarian was alleged to have been raped before she was murdered by her attackers.
What could have attracted them to an 80-year-old woman? They just wasted her. Maybe she recognized some of her attackers that’s why they killed her.
Her gruesome death was sad and unfortunate.
We appeal to security agencies and the state government to come to our rescue in Ore. The hoodlums are having a field day and taking advantage of our women.
Our amiable governor, Mr. Rotimi Akeredolu, should help deploy the state security outfit; Amotekun, to our community. We’re passionately appealing to him’ a resident of the town said.
It was gathered that a palm wine tapper, Mr. Sunday , has been arrested in connection with the incident.
He was reportedly taken to the police by some young people in the community after discovering that he was in possession of the deceased victim’s mobile phone.
He had taken the angry Ore youths to the place where the victim’s corpse was found while however claiming that she was killed by some herdsmen.
Spokesperson for the state police command, Funmi Odunlami, has confirmed that Sunday has been taken into custody while adding that charges would be preferred against him after investigation must have been concluded-Team@orientactualmags.com
