A crash recorded on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway on Tuesday has left two people dead.
Team@orientactualmags.com learned the incident was recorded at about 6:30a.m in the Saapade axis of the expressway.
The driver reportedly dozed off and crashed the bus into a stationary truck.
Spokesman for the Ogun state Traffic Compliance and Enforcement (TRACE) Corps, Babatunde Akinbiyi, confirmed the incident in a statement on Tuesday.
He said the truck with registration number EKY 65 XF and a J5 bus with no registration number were involved in the crash.
‘Out of the four persons involved in the crash, two died while others were rescued unhurt.
Those who died were taken to FOS morgue, Ipara by the owner of the morgue using his ambulance’ Akinbiyi said.
He added that the stationary truck loaded with foodstuffs had developed a mechanical problem.
‘However, in the course of fixing the vehicle, the J5 bus which was loaded with tomatoes, pepper and the likes, rammed into the truck from behind, due to excessive speed and because the driver has dozed off , the driver and the motor boy died instantly due to the impact of the collision’ he said.
While commiserating with the families of the deceased victims, TRACE advised drivers to avoid over speeding, take adequate rest before embarking on a journey and avoid driving when visibility is poor-Team@orientactualmags.com
