Court Says Pastor Who Killed Choir Mistress, Friend In Rivers Should Get Executed By Hanging

A pastor, Chidiebere Okoroafor, who is based in Rivers state, is now on death row.

 Okoroafor, who is the General Overseer of the Altar of Solution and Healing Assembly, Oyigbo, Rivers state, had murder charges preferred against him six years ago.

 He was accused of killing his choir mistress, Orlunma Nwagba, who he had put in the family way, ‘if gold rusts, what  can iron  do’, you will say.

Okoroafor  was also accused of killing Nwagba’s friend, Chigozie Ezenwa, and her eleven-month-old daughter, Cresabel.

The incident was recorded on December 11, 2017 in  Oyigbo Local Government, Rivers state.

Team@orientactualmags.com learned that Justice S.O. Benson, said the evidence and confessional statements from the pastor showed that he committed the crimes adding that the prosecution proved the case beyond reasonable doubt.

 He ordered that the pastor  should  get executed by hanging  or should be injected with a lethal injection which also kills faster.

The deceased women had visited the pastor’s house in Oyigbo for a discussion on the said pregnancy when he lured them into the bush and killed them.

He was arrested and taken into custody by the police on December 17, 2017.

‘Justice has been served to the state, the complainant and the convict.

This will serve as a deterrent to all those who intend to commit the same offence because it is justice for all’ the prosecution counsel from the state Ministry of Justice , Precious Ordu, said.

 Counsel for Pastor Okoroafor, Innocent Ekwu, however said his legal  team would appeal the judgment.

‘We, as counsels for the defendant, have decided to appeal the case. We are going to file our notice of appeal as quickly as possible because we have grounds on which we believe that the defendant did not commit the offence’ he said- Team@orientactualmags.com
