I’ll Visit Osun Communities Soon…It’s Now Time For Full-Scale Politics-Aregbesola
Ogbeni Rauf Adesoji Aregbesola has disclosed that he would from now on engage in politics on a full-scale.
Aregbesola , who had for years now gotten recognized as an influential politician in the country, had been somewhat considered to be on the verge of losing such a status following recent political developments.
66-year-old Aregbesola was the Commissioner for Works and Infrastructure in Lagos state between 1999 and 2007 and no one was named as his replacement until he became the governor of Osun state in November 2010. He got re-elected in 2014 and left public office in November 2018. Aregbesola was appointed to cabinet position by former president Muhammadu Buhari in 2019 and he was the nation’s Minister of Interior until May 29, 2023.

Giving his speech during the luncheon organized in his honour by the Friends of Rauf Aregbesola (FORA) in Osogbo on Saturday, Aregbesola also disclosed that he will soon visit communities in the state for awareness purposes.
‘Osun state Government belongs to a different party to the one controlling the government presently. They are in the PDP and we belong to the APC. But they were not scared to allow us to hold our events.
They received us with love and joy. No problem whatsoever. No gunshot sounds. We were not subjected to any form of intimidation. We appreciate the state government.
Now, I am returning to full politics. I will devote more time to politics. We will start moving around our communities to sensitize our people’ he said.
Chairman of the Planning Committee , a one-time Speaker of Osun state House of Assembly, Dr. Najeem Salaam, called Aregbesola a man of many parts adding that the former minister had in the last 24 years shown compassion, diligence, uncommon loyalty and determination to improve the lots of the populace as a public official.
He asserted that Aregbesola would remain a point of reference in Nigeria’s political landscape adding that he has undying passion for mass prosperity and the emancipation of the young people.
Other loyalists of the former minister including former Senator Mudashiru Husain, former Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Barrister Kolapo Alimi and Sheikh Yusuf Oko-Iya Eleko in their separate speeches described Aregbesola as a true democrat whose passion for excellence and character in leadership cannot be quantified.
The former minister had also on Wednesday submitted that President Bola Tinubu and his immediate predecessor, retired General Muhammadu Buhari played an important role in his political career.
Team@orientactualmags.com learned that Aregbesola said this during his visit to the Owa Obokun of Ijesaland, Oba (Dr) Gabriel Adekunle Aromolaran at his palace in Ilesa, Osun state.

‘We thank God for how far he has brought me. Again, I must thank former president Muhammadu Buhari for counting me worthy to be made a minister and also President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for counting me worthy to be a commissioner in Lagos state. Because from there, God continued to uplift me to where I’m today.

If you recall, when I left government in November 2018, I came here to pay homage and thank God for a successful tenure. After my tour of duty as Minister in Abuja, I felt it was proper for me again to come and pay homage as a worthy son of Ijesaland’ he said- Team@orientactualmags.com
