Herder Attacks Young Girl With Cutlass For Saying ‘No’ To Sex In Kwara

A young girl, Mohammed Aisha ,has been attacked with cutlass in Kwara state because she had declined request for sex by a herder, Mohammed Abubakar.

Team@orientactualmags.com learned that 25-year-old Mohammed Abubakar had since been arrested by the police and he appeared before Magistrate Gbadeyan Kamson of the Magistrates’ Court , Ilọrin, on Friday.

 He was accused of causing grievous hurt  to Aisha and attempting to commit culpable homicide.

The offences contravened sections 246 and 299 of the penal code law of Kwara state.

According to the police’s first information report, the case was reported at Lafiagi Police Station by the Medical Director, General Hospital, Lafiagi, Dr. S.K Suleiman and the charge sheet quoted Dr Suleiman  as saying ‘The victim was brought for treatment where she narrated that she went to  the bush in search of Shea butter along with her two sisters; Hassana and Adishetu. But they were attacked by the suspect, a Fulani, and the victim had a head injury’.

The police told the court that ‘investigation revealed that the suspect demanded to have sex with the victim and her two younger sisters but they refused and ran for safety. But he (suspect) chased them and attacked the suspect  and made her have a cut on the head in the process’.

The Police Prosecutor, Ayeni Gbenga, said  investigation in respect of the  case was yet to be concluded and therefore urged the court not to grant the accused person bail.

In her ruling, Magistrate Gbadeyan Kamson ordered that the suspect should be remanded in correctional centre and adjourned the case until July 10, 2023-Team@orientactualmags.com
