Gov Buni Announces Automatic Employment For Sons Of Slain Yobe Islamic Cleric Goni Aisami

Governor Mai Mala Buni  of Yobe state has announced automatic employment  for two among the sons of late Islamic cleric, Sheikh Goni Aisami, who was murdered in  Gashua, on Friday.

Team@orientactualmags.com  learned he announced this on Tuesday  during the thank-you visit by  the deceased’s   family members.

They had done this to express their gratitude for the governor’s personal concern for the family.

Buni’s Media Aide, Mamman Mohammed  said in a statement that the governor assured that the state government will ensure investigation of the circumstances surrounding the death of the cleric.

He also promised that the state government will continue to support the family  having  lost its breadwinner.

Malam Ibrahim Aisami, who spoke on behalf of the family, expressed appreciation for the supports and  the condolence  visit to the family by  a high-powered government delegation .

He said the employment would cushion hardships the family may have been made to suffer following the demise of the cleric.

Spokesman for the Nigeria Police Force in Yobe state,  Dungus Abdulkarim,  a Deputy Superintendent of Police,   had  said two suspects, who claimed to be soldiers attached to 241 Recce Model Battalion, Nguru, were responsible for the cleric’s death.

He  had also added   that the incident occurred at about 10 p.m. on Friday after Aisami gave one of the suspects a lift.

Aisami, he added, was driving to  Gashua from Nguru, when the principal suspect ,who was in mufti and carrying a camp bed,  requested that he  should be given a ride adding that he was going to Jaji-Maji.

‘On approaching Jaji-Maji, the cleric stopped the car to urinate’  he said.

However after easing himself and entering the car and about to  crank the engine, the principal suspect suddenly brought out an AK-47 and shot the Sheikh twice.

Abdulkarim further said the suspect had tried to flee with the deceased’s car but failed, as it got stuck in the mud and  the vehicle failed to start.

‘He put a call through to the second suspect, who drove another vehicle to the scene. Unfortunately for him, his drive shaft broke.

The two suspects then requested for help from a vigilance group in Jaji-Maji. When the group arrived at the scene to tow the broken down vehicles, incidentally Aisami’s body was found at the scene’  the police spokesman said.

Abdulkarim had added that the vigilance group later drew the attention of the police to the incident which led to the arrest of the suspects.

The police recovered the gun and the two cars while effort was ongoing to confirm the identity of the suspects.

Abdulkarim had also said the suspects would be prosecuted after the completion of investigation.

Though there were media reports that the suspects are Nigerian army officers as claimed, the identities of the killers have however  not been officially established-  Team@orientactualmags.com
