Eid-li-Adha: Why We Couldn’t Make Free Train Travel Available To Citizens-Osun Govt
Osun state government has explained the reasons for its failure to make free train travel available to citizens from Lagos state and its environs ahead of the eid-li-adha celebration, citing a damaged train track.
The state government noted that though proper machinery had been put in place to make the Imole free Train travel available to the citizens but was however forced to suspend this after getting informed by the Nigeria Railway Corporation (NRC) that a train accident had gotten recorded in the Abeokuta – Lagos axis of the rail gauge .
Announcing the suspension of the free train travel , the state Ministry of Commerce in a statement made available to Team@orientactualmags.com expressed regret at the inability of the state government to facilitate the free train travel for indigenes during this year’s eid-li-adha festival.
The State Government explained that all rail lines are under the purview of the federal government, and as such, the issue of the damaged railway track was totally out of the control of the state government.
It also noted that the State Government could not continue with the free train travel out of concern for the safety of passengers, which the damaged track has put into serious doubt.
‘Adeleke administration recognizes the immediate challenge that the suspension of the free train travel portends, and assures of ongoing efforts to avoid similar experience in the future.
The Osun state Government under Governor Adeleke assures citizens of sustained commitment to their well-being, wishing Muslims in Osun state and beyond a hitch-free celebration. ’ the statement said-Team@orientactualmags.com Do you have any information you wish to share with us?
