Osun Gov Inaugurates Committee That’ll Distribute Food Items To Citizens…Urges Transparency
Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun state on Wednesday inaugurated the committee that would handle the distribution of federal government’s ‘palliatives’ to residents of the state, while restating his administration’s commitment to making sure that the distribution process ‘is totally nonpartisan, transparent and credible as humanly possible’.
Adeleke ,who was represented by his Deputy, Prince Kola Adewusi , clarified that the state has not received N5billion from the federal government as alleged in some quarters describing this as a baseless fabrication from the opposition party.
A statement made available to Team@orientactualmags.com quoted Commissioner for Information and Public Enlightenment, Hon Kolapo Alimi as saying this while presiding over the press conference held at the Governor’s office , Osogbo, on Wednesday.
He disclosed that the state government has received the first batch consisting of 3,000 bags of 50kg rice but yet to receive that of the N5 billion promised by the federal government.
‘Yes, we have received all the 3,000 bags of 50kg rice from the federal government, but we have not received anything from that of the N5 billion it promised to make available to the state. We are still waiting for another consignment of 14,000 bags as well as 3,200MT of maize. Governor Ademola Adeleke is running an open administration, when we get it, we will definitely make public’ he said.
