Popular Kwara PDP Member, Sesan Abegunde, Finally Joins APC …It’s ‘A Welcome Development’- Speaker Danladi

A prominent member of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP in Kwara state, Hon Sesan Philip Abegunde, who declared in an interview held with your darling medium, orientactualmags.com in July this year that he has taken a decision to leave both the PDP and the political group currently headed by former Senate President, Dr  Abubakar Bukola Saraki , has finally joined the ruling APC.

 Speaker Yakubu Salihu Danladi received him into the party on behalf of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq and other stakeholders in the party at the state House of Assembly complex, Ilorin, on Tuesday, and he has called this ‘a welcome development’.

Comrade Sesan Abegunde , who started active politics in 2008 , had ahead of the  2019 General Election, served as  member of the  PDP National Youth Campaign Council, a subcommittee of the National Campaign Council and  in preparation for the  2023 general election,  he  was again, appointed as member of the Youth Campaign Council in the state,  and also the Publicity Secretary of the Kwara South media committee. 

While being received into the APC by Speaker Salihu Yakubu Danladi in his office on Tuesday, Comrade Sesan said he took a decision to choose APC as his new political party because Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has created an enabling environment for the young people to consciously get involved, actively participate in governance and take up leadership roles.

  ‘I belong to the youth constituency and that  is my own priority,  getting  the young people involved in governance is my joy and that is why Iam happy that Iam being received into the party by Speaker Yakubu Salihu Danladi, he is from the youth constituency and he  has done creditably well,

Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has given  the youth constituency a sense of belonging, he has promoted youth inclusion in governance greatly, and this makes good sense for progress, and I have taken a decision to join the progressives. Iam mainly concerned about my youth constituency, my community and my people and I want our interest to get adequately protected’ he said.

 Speaker Yakubu Salihu Danladi , who was joined by former Deputy Speaker, Hon Adetiba-Olanrewaju Raphael, Secretary, National Youth Council of Nigeria, Kwara state chapter, Comrade Shola Arinde and others in receiving Abegunde into Kwara state APC, commended him for taking a decision to associate with an administration headed by a governor, who loves the young people, gives them a sense of belonging and has confidence in their ability.
