Petty Traders, Widows, Young People Among Beneficiaries Of Kwara Govt’s ‘Fresh’ Cash Grants

Widows, petty traders, and the young people were among beneficiaries as Kwara state government continued the distribution of cash grants to residents and citizens of the state on Tuesday.
A total number of 20, 751 people would benefit from the ‘fresh’ cash grants.
General Manager, Kwara state Social Investment Programme (KWASSIP) ,Dr Tejidini Abdulwasiu Olayinka in a statement made available to Team@orientactualmags.com on Tuesday noted that ‘it is another layer of the state government’s social protection programme in response to the recent removal of fuel subsidy’.

‘The intervention which is being carried out under the state’s social safety net and coordinated by the Kwara State Social Investment Programme (KWASSIP),, is the second in three months.
In August, at least 13, 416 citizens received support funds from the government in the first phase’ he said.
The statement added that 1, 569 widows, 1, 611 petty traders, 12, 500 young people engaged for the Kwara public welfare programme, and 5, 071 earlier enumerated under the safety net have been approved for this phase.

Dr Tejidini also noted that ‘the slew of palliatives’ rolled out by Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has underscored his commitment to the welfare of the people and the development of the state.
‘The governor has approved the distribution of fresh cash grants to support the petty traders and provide relief to the indigents. We are determined to walk through this time with our people.
