UMCA National President Visits Gov Idris In Birni Kebbi , Commends Him For Promoting ‘Religious Equality’

The governor  of Kebbi state, Comrade Dr. Nasir Idris, the Kauran Gwandu,  has been commended for  promoting religious equality and being  fair to adherents of all religions in the state.

Governor Nasiru’s Special Adviser on Media, Mr. Yahaya Sarki noted in a statement made available to Team@orientactualmags.com that Reverend Dr. Gbenga Odebiri, who is the National President of the United Missionary Church of Africa (UMCA), said this during his visit to the governor at the Government House, Birni Kebbi on Friday. 

Governor Idris has also been described as a leader who is humble and has ensured that his administration promotes peace and development by uniting adherents of different religions and encouraging them to live in harmony. 

The UMCA President also listed the developmental strides of Governor Nasir Idris within the short period of his governorship to include distribution of free fertilizer, agricultural inputs and food items to farmers and people of the state.

Others include offering of scholarships to students, infrastructural development especially construction of urban roads, provision of potable water as well as curtailing the security challenges in the state.

 Governor Idris, who was  represented by the Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Yakubu Bala-Tafida expressed appreciation to the UMCA President for being partners in progress and for  their unrelenting support for his  administration to move Kebbi state forward .

‘ This administration is not unmindful of your support and I can assure you that the Kauran Gwandu is an unbiased and detribalized leader.

I am happy to inform you that His Excellency just last night approved the appointment of Dr. Samuel Ango Bako as his Special Adviser on Christian Affairs .

 On the issue of land and Ambulance, the state government is on it’ he said.
