NIPR, NUJ, NALVEJ, ACF, IPU, Others ‘Welcome’ Salahu’s Appointment As Kwara Gov’s Senior Special Adviser
Notable professional and socio- cultural organizations have hailed the appointment of a media guru and Fellow of the Nigeria Institute of Public Relations( NIPR), Alh Saadu Salahu as Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq’s Senior Special Adviser and Counselor .
Salahu had at different times during Governor AbdulRazaq’s first term served as Special Adviser on Political Matters and Special Adviser on Strategy.
The Senior Special Adviser and Counselor is directly responsible for providing senior policy support services as well as providing co-ordination, facilitation and analysis services.
Professional bodies and organizations that have welcomed Salahu’s appointment in separate statements made available to Team@orientactualmags.com included the Nigeria Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), National League of Veteran Journalists (NALVEJ), Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF) Gamji Members Association (GAMA) and the Ibagun Progressive Union (IPU).
In its congratulatory message, the NIPR expressed delight over Salahu’s appointment to the exalted office of the governor’s senior special adviser and counselor .
The NIPR praised Governor AbdulRazaq for finding the prominent public relations practitioner and a Fellow of the Institute worthy of the appointment.
A statement jointly signed by the acting chairman of NIPR , Kwara state, Mr Gbenga Ishola and secretary, Mallam AbdulRahman Sanni, expressed confidence in the ability of Salahu to deliver on his new role.
While urging the new appointee to put his expertise and wealth of experience into bear in his new assignment, the Kwara state NIPR also enjoined him to continue to be worthy ambassador of the Institute.
The state NIPR also promised to continue to support the Governor AbdulRazaq administration in its bid to take Kwara to an enviable level.
The association also congratulated all NIPR members both in Kwara and Nigeria at large for the reappointment of one of its Fellows as a major stakeholder in the AbdulRazaq administration..
Also, the state council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) in a statement signed by its chairman, Abdullateef ‘Lanre Ahmed, thanked Governor AbdulRazaq for finding journalists worthy of being made members of his cabinet.
‘The Kwara State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) is appreciative of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq’s good gesture, especially his special interest in journalists when it comes to choosing people who will work with him.
The reappointment of Alhaji Saadu Salaudeen as his Senior Special Adviser and Counselor is an attestation to the respect and reverence with which the governor holds journalists.
We are glad that the appointees, who are veterans in journalism fraternity including the latest appointee, did not disappoint in the previous offices they held, and we urge them not to drop the ball.
NUJ, as a formidable union, would not rest on its oars in upholding the truth at all times, and serving as one of the pillars that hold and stabilize democratic governance’ Ahmed said.
The NALVEJ in a statement signed by its state chairman, Alh Tunde Akanbi and publicity secretary, Alh Abdullahi Olesin, described Salahu’s appointment as well deserved.
The league praised Governor AbdulRazaq for seeing journalists as indispensable partners in the running of the affairs of the state.
It noted that Salahu’s appointment was the third of such sensitive appointments given to journalists in the new administration of Governor AbdulRazaq, recalling the appointment of Rafiu Ajakaye as the chief press secretary and Alh Bashir Adigun as special adviser on Media.
The league assured the governor that the appointees would deliver on their respective mandates; given their enviable track records of achievements in the offices they held in the past.
The Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF) in a statement signed by its state chairman, Dr Mohammed Ghali Alaaya, noted that Salahu actually earned his new appointment and elevation.
The ACF described Salahu’s commitment to the success of the Governor AbdulRazaq administration and his passion for the development of the state as remarkable and unquantifiable.
It prayed Allah to grant Salahu, the governor and other cabinet members a successful tenure.
In its own message, the Gamji Members Association (GAMA) has also hailed Salahu’s appointment.
GAMA in a statement signed by its president general, Alh Tunde Akanbi and director of publicity, Alh Abdullahi Olesin, thanked the governor for finding one of its members worthy of appointment as Senior Special Adviser and Counselor.
At the home front, the Ibagun Progressive Union( IPU) noted that it received the news of Salahu’s appointment with a lot of excitement.

Our traditional chief, Alh Zakariayau Iyanda Maliki, IPU, Egbe Agba, the Stakeholders Forum and the Entire Ibagun/ Okelele community proudly felicitate our son of the soil, the gargantuan Salahudeen, on his new appointment as His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Kwara State’s Special Adviser and Counselor !!!
