Impeachment: Deputy Governor Not Ready For ‘Genuine Reconciliation’ -Ondo Speaker
Speaker of Ondo state House of Assembly, Hon Olamide Oladiji, has submitted that the state deputy governor, Mr. Lucky Ayedatiwa, has not shown commitment to genuine reconciliation.
Recall that the parliament had initiated impeachment proceedings against the deputy governor, but this was however stalled as the state Chief Judge, Justice Olusegun Odusola had refused to constitute the required seven-man panel to investigate the gross misconduct allegation leveled against Mr. Lucky Ayedatiwa.
The APC National Working Committee had also set up a reconciliation committee headed Alhaji Aminu Masari but nothing tangible has been achieved by the committee.
Team@orientactualmags.com learned that Oladiji, who told journalists in Akure that the Deputy Governor would need to convince them that he is truly ready for ‘political solution’ , confirmed the intervention of the APC NWC but however noted that Aiyedatiwa would have to withdraw the suits he had instituted before the reconciliation could take place.
‘We met with the National Chairman of the APC, and he specifically asked me how we can commence reconciliation. I told him that the reconciliation process had to start with the deputy governor. He is the one who took us to court; we cannot be reconciling ourselves when we have cases in court.
Let him go to the court, withdraw all these cases, then we would know that we are now in for genuine reconciliation.
But the deputy governor has not done that as he has appealed some of the rulings of the lower court’ he said-Team@orientactualmags.com
