NEC: Gov AbdulRazaq’s Appointment As Head Of Economic Affairs Committee Excites G47 AA Legacy Continuity Group
Leaders and members of the G47 AA Legacy Continuity Group, submitted on Sunday that they were excited to receive the news of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq’s appointment as Chairman of the committees on Economic Affairs,, which has been tasked with coming up with strategies to handle post-petrol subsidy removal issues.
While hailing the decision taken by the National Economic Council (NEC) under Vice President Kashim Shettima’s leadership to appoint Governor AbdulRazaq as head of the committee as perfect, the group also expressed confidence in the ability of the Kwara state governor to ensure that the committee delivers on its mandate.
Recall that following deliberations on critical economic matters and assessments of potential short-term, medium and long-term strategies for addressing pressing economic issues, the National Economic Council, NEC had during its 138th meeting on Thursday set up committee on Economic Affairs and committee on Crude Oil Theft And Management.
The Economic Affairs committee headed by Governo AbdulRazaq AbdulRahman, is saddled with the task of preparing a clear roadmap for dealing with removal of petrol subsidy, including a framework for defending wage negotiations, exchange rate management and fiscal consolidation sustainability, liquidity management and inflation, medium term investment and growth, fiscal transparency and accountability, as well as state of emergency on food production for 2024.
Coordinator , G47 AA Legacy Continuity Group, Hon. Jimoh Idris , who is popularly called Blinkers, in a statement made available to Team@orientactualmags.com commended members of NEC for appointing Governor AbdulRazaq as head of the committee in question while noting that his chairmanship of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum has brought benefits to the state.
‘This new assignment given to His Excellency is one of the signs of good things that will come to Kwara state because Mr. President is satisfied with the giant strides made by our people’s governor and his unprecedented achievements in less than five years as governor of Kwara state.
This has further confirmed His Excellency, Mallam Abdulrahman Abdulrasaq CON, Chairman NGF as a leader who values his state and makes the wellbeing of the citizens a priority.
He has done well when it comes to provision of infrastructure projects and his administration’s social investment programmes are quite commendable , nearly every household in the state has enjoyed one support or another..
He has repositioned education sector in the state, what he has done at the level of basic education will make everyone continue to pray for him.
He has changed the face of Kwara state and he has made judicious use of public funds that was why he was obviously considered for this new role’ the statement said.
