Ibadan Explosion : Kwara Governor Offers Condolences… Praises Response, Welcomes Probe Into Incident
Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq of Kwara state , who is also the Chairman of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum , has commended the response of Oyo state government under Governor Seyi Makinde’s leadership to the explosion incident while offering condolences to the government and people of the Pace setter state.
The governor in a statement made available to Team@orientactualmags.com also welcomed probe into the incident while noting that this has emphasized the need for operators to adopt global best practices in mining operations and to prioritize safety at all times.
‘On behalf of the people of Kwara state, I send our heartfelt condolences to the people and Government of Oyo state on the tragic explosion in parts of Ibadan late Tuesday.
Our thoughts and sympathies are with the good people and Government of Oyo state at this trying time. I commend my brother Governor, His Excellency , Seyi Makinde, and his team for the swift responses since the incident occurred.
The incident again underlines the need for operators to adopt global best practices in mining operations and to prioritize safety at all times.
The calls for objective probe are therefore in order to unravel what truly happened to forestall a repeat of such a traumatic incident.
