
The Investigative Committee set up to look into the crisis recently recorded at the Osun state College of Education , Ila Orangun, Osun state with respect to the running of the affairs of the institution has reversed the suspension of the Provost of the college , Professor Jimoh Afolabi and ordered that status quo ante should be maintained pending the outcome of its investigation.
A statement made available to Team@orientactualmags.com by Governor Ademola Adeleke’s Special Adviser , Mallam Olawale Rasheed noted that the committee during its meeting that was chaired by the Chairman ,who is also the governor’s Chief of Staff , Hon Kazeem Akinleye, asked the Governing Council and the College’s management team to revert to state of affairs before the eruption of the crisis.
After almost four hours of presentations by both parties, the committee further instructed both the Provost and the Governing Council Chairman to avoid further escalation either through the media or the judiciary.
Chairman of the committee, Hon Akinleye reminded the principal officers of the college of the institution’s enabling law, the public service financial regulations and the oath of office they took upon their appointments.
‘We also don’t want the crisis to paralyze activities at the college. Any protracted crisis can disrupt academic activities and even the peace of Ila Orangun community.
At the same time, we want to ensure protection of public funds. We have made far -reaching recommendations to prevent any future reoccurrence of such an infighting and confrontation’ Hon Akinleye was quoted to have submitted.
