Re: ‘Consensus Group’ or The Congress of Misguided Political Owls- Benjamin Dairo Oyinloye

Re: ‘Consensus Group’ or The Congress of Misguided Political Owls- Benjamin Dairo Oyinloye

I was taken aback reading through the press release by a disoriented group in the name of ‘Consensus Group’.  I take delight to malign the misnomer of such a legless face of adulterated movement, especially while we have pockets of developmental and social concerns in our  Kwara South.

The Igbo people say, ‘if a snake does not behave like a snake, small children will use it to tie firewood’. How can one be happy to accentuate the buffoonery of an attempt by  a consortium of political crabs to draw back the clock of unfolding reachable progress in Kwara South.

One could have parried the need for a response as the concerns department are capable and competent at nibbling this heresy in the bud but the larger review of the vibes aptly revealed the infectious budding of a disease named ‘encephalitis’, a disease of the brain that sometimes pushes an individual to be insensitive and lack the power concentrate as culprits  A group that is making its first appearance, yet the confusion remains as whether it is a social crusader, a political enabler or a cultural movement. Of what import was the assemblage of these cackles of marauding Hyenas press conference?

Come to think of it, this is coming at a time the Kwara South is facing myriads of social and political issues such that, all the elected national representatives from Kwara South have reacted in various press releases to condemn the indignity and failure of the Kwara South security architectures among many other gemane issues that are calling for urgent attention.

In order to limit the shade of light upon their insomnia movement, they cleverly mentioned a prayer for the siting of University of Education in Oro in Irepodun local government to the Governor. Besides the issues of security, the senatorial district is still largely wallowing in wants of critical intervention and coordination of developmental efforts.

No doubt, Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrasaq has not  derailed in the bid to advance the economic, political and social integration of Kwara State neither has the new Deputy Majority Leader, Senator Ashiru Oyelola failed in his bid to complement the pragmatic developmental strides of the State government.

Therefore, accrediting the name of the Governor as though, the congregation of this jackals were script from any quarters other than to continue to create negative energy that is aimed at causing disharmony and bitterness with an inherent attempt to lynch the flow of linear relationship between the cadres of Kwara State elected representatives.

So much concerns for the future of a senatorial district that is under the siege of absurdities. So much so, that, many individuals have resorted to be absorbed into indecorous political train of no conscience.

In Kwara South, unemployment is on the increase, among mountain hill of welfare challenges. The burden of political reach out is waning as a result of increasing concerns and lorry loads financial need. Not once was this group quoted or referenced as intervening as a Non Governmental Organization of any efforts but only to congregate on social media and disrespect the ethos of our unbililical traditions. Is this what you were taught in school as the knowledge of democracy or politics? Is this it?

No doubt, Kwara South is in need of a political pharmacist, a political lab attendant, a political surgeon and a general practice medical personnel outside the pulse of this misguided noise makers. Not once in the evolving annals of kwara state political development have people come to table to validate the inevitable need of zoning and which may be the expected moral compass. What then is the political sin of a Senator endorsing the need for a political dialogue to lessen the unlikely heat of a political future?.

The Senator, has the constitutional wherewithal to speak for the senatorial district under his representation. It was and still is, the thinking of the Senator, that, there is no isolated political bloc in Kwara State, that can unilaterally claim political power without the collaboration of others and come to think of it, what if the political thought is limited to the present ruling government? What if the opposition goes to field candidate outside the linear thinking of our political beam? Will it be a sin? Have we sat to embrace this convention within our ranks? So many questions calling for answers.

To move the state forward, the senatorial districts must work together in order to promote the much -needed synergies and cooperation  that is required to promote the expected political balance as well as to further the inseparable sentinel of power game.

This dialogue will regulate, guide and cushion the unlikely effect of an anticipatory tension. It is the view of the Senator that, the call for dialogue is the only solution that can deliver a future free of rancour and murmuring—Hon Benjamin Dairo Oyinloye writes from Abuja.
